So over the last week or 2 i have been getting all the footage ready for the movie whilst putting together the trailor. I even squeezed in there a roadtrip to Tahoe from Breck during Spring Break to get some more shots. Here is some photos over the last couple of weeks of what we have been up to.

So i just got home after a long day in the breck park and then tonight heading to a pretty big rail to drop off one side.

It was sessioned for a while, with Jason and Tyson getting some shots before the battery pack for the flashes got caked in snow 1 to many times and decided to call it quits.. So it was time to go home and get warm...

Thursday:

Today was another overcast day, and with snow dumping down the Wetsock crew headed out into the storm in search of some fresh stuff, however after a few hours riding everyone was a bit over it so we decided to call it and regroup at home.

The forecast was for snowshowers for the next few days, and the boys were itching to ride park, but as the outlook seemed to have other plans, we looked for otherplans also.

Belmore threw it on the table that an urban session should go down, so while we have the chance to get down to Boulder and the company of Tim Lloyd(photographer) and Staggs(Ballystix T.V show filmer) to get some footage and photos, so we packed up later that night and headed down to Boulder.

Friday:

It was an early get up Friday morning as we planned to hit a couple of features which all take time to set up.
So we left the house and headed down the highway where we hit a rail down an underpass that Shaun had sussed out a few weeks prior.
Everything went really smooth, on lookers didnt seem to mind what we were doing, just a little confused as to why we were snowboarding down 3 meters of snow to hit 8 metres of rail, but that aside we sessioned it untill we all got our tricks down on it, then we headed to Chipotle for some well deserved lunch

After Lunch we headed to a park near by a friends place and found an up rail and a drop off after it.
There was a heap of snow around though the sun was out it made it pretty wet so we had to work quick using the bungy cable, we managed to stretch it out enough to sling Rothy in to the feature and get a few shots before the snow completely gave out.

After a little sleep in from our antics the night before we hit the road for our last rail that Shaun had in mind where we met up with Tom Pelly to session a Down Flat rail in a school.
This session went pretty smooth, apart from the fact that the drop in was located under a running drain pipe so we would get drenched everytime we would go to strap in, but it was worth it, as we managed to get some alright footage and hopefully some shot out of it too.

So all in all a productive weekend, ill say 1 collage party and 3 rails in 2 days, we were all tired wet and hungry, so we headed out to Outback Steak House in Boulder before hitting the road home.

Beaver and Tom Pelley

Last thursday i headed down to Beaver Creek to catch up with friend Tom Pelley. Photographer Tim Lloyd came down for the ride as Tom has found a bunch of things to shoot.

We first went to the resort in search of some cool log rails. We found a good one set up camp and got a few shots.

After dodging trees all morning with camera bags on, we headed for some lunch to decide our next move.

We found a train line that went over the top of a major road... Thought it would be a bust for sure. A cop car drove right by us taking a look and then getting on his way.

After getting a couple of good shots for the day it was time to head back to frisco to get ready for our rail trip to boulder.

Sweet another sunny day to ride park in Colorado sick! wait a second, thats right it snows all the time here oh yeh
So with snow dumping down, and flat light, the idea of riding park was out the window, so Shaun Belmore aka (Belmore, Belgore, Algore, B-dawg Teh Rain Maker, ) Tyson Pollard, Andrew Roth and myself headed out to hit an urban feature that the boys has scoped out last week.
After a short drive to Breck to get a bungee cord (thanks Pelley) then we headed back to Frisco started shovelling, out the feature.With a completly flat inrun it meant that it took all the man power we had to stretch the bungee cord out for someone to get slung in, and we were all greatful that Tyson the gym king had been pumping iron for the last few days.
Despite the lack of speed and a giant rock wedged to the side of the take off, the boys managed to get it done and get some footage.

Booter Time

The other day Pat, myself, photographer Tim Lloyd along with friends Jason and Jarryd head out to a secret location to search for a jump site.

We found a pretty nice looking location and started the build. The snow being so dry it was extremely hard to make blocks and get some kind of shape.

We didnt get to finish the jump but got a fair amount done with a coating of water to stiffen things up a bit. Heading back there in the next couple of days to finish her off. Then its on....

legal straight rails??

Today i went for a shred in the morning to see what the mountain would bring...... not so much apparently very windy but still found some fun runs.

Then around lunchtime i received a phone call from the one and only Iver Lynne, reminding me of a little compound where u are allowed to hit the urban jibs, all thats needed is a signed waiver from inside the ski rental shop. A street rail you can session wheneva you want!!!! plus another pretty unique feature which we will save for another day.

All in all Iver and Tim both got some pretty solid shots. Another successful day done.

DeCampo Film Day.

Today it was a day with DeCampo. After he had a couple of warm up laps in the medium park we head over to the big line. Expecting Decamps to just do a speed check or a warm up run, he gets straight into it with a huge cab5 to front3. Then it was time for business stomping some super clean cab9's.

After hiking the big line all after noon he landed what he was after in front of the camera and decided it was time to sunbake and embrace the beautiful weather before again stomping an amazing clean run on the way home.

Tomorrow we are heading to Keystone, you never know what there park has to offer.

TENNIS??

Today Iver, Nick, Timmy, Tyson and myself set out on a mission (not to far from our front door step) to film a tennis court fence. There was no slope what so ever so we had to improvise with the help of some rope from Wall-mart and a very nice car from our good friend Caitlin.

When Iver, Nick and Timmy arrived we got straight into setting up both Timmy and Iver's features.

Then a quick bite to eat and they were ready to go. Timmy was up first testing out the car system. He warmed up to this concept pretty quickly. After a couple of speed checks he attacked the fence and stomped first hit, but Timmy was determined to get the best shot so after a couple for hits, a little pain it all paid off.

Iver had his fair share of hammers also. Showing us he can change his tricks up when filming the one feature.

Overall a very sunny, fun, and successful day. Well done everyone.

Vail... less powder than expected.

Today myself and tyson headed down to Vail after watching the snow fall all night at our place we thought it would be perfect to shoot some pow turns and cliff drops at Vail. When we arrived it was a blue bird, but after our first lap we realised there wasnt as much snow as we first thought. So we decided to go on an adventure around the mountain searching for that waist deep powder we dreampt about. We did manage to find some fresh satshes through the trees but nothing worthy of filming just good times.

Back to Breck tomorrow for some training before the USASA slopestyle comp at Copper on Saturday.

All Up 'n Down

The 8 hour road trek to Jindy fully complimented the immense hang over that slowed down the team sunday morning. Yet with all our strength we hitched up the trailer, load it full of jibbits from generators to drop-in ramps, and lugged that beast all up and down the alpine way.

Upon cracking open sleep crusted eyeballs to catch first sight of early

morning, we were caught by the homie Patrick Davis-Meehan, who beamed with excitement to share with us his newly captivated shred-vantage. The PT Cruiser was loaded up, and we headed to Perisher to find a Ben Randall,

and one Jackson Collings awaiting our arrival.

'Twas glorious. A gaping 12-ft rock drop stood before us, waiting to be sessioned. The building comenced and after some shoveling and scraping,

the drop was underway. Pat dropped first, sparking his edges, pinging the rock face.

After some minor adjustments took place, the chute proved more up to par.

The next day was the Freeride series at Thredbo. Among the competitors were Shaun Belmore, Pat Davis-Meehan, Ben Randall, Jackson Collings, Billy Haymen. Despite the awesome turn out, the weather turned for the worst with blinding white out conditions and strong winds. The competition was forced to be called short, canceling everyone's second runs with only several riders left to go. Pat came out third in the Men's Snowboard Open, and Billy ended up second in the Junior's Snowboard. Congrats to all those riders as well who qualified for the series.

Next stop was a 4 hour cruise down to Falls Creek to catch all our riders competing in Style Wars. The Weather in Victoria was far from pleasant, making possibilities for the slope style bit not even in the air. But the rail jam commenced.

The set up was a pile of 28 stairs under lights, a down bar to the right, a flat kink in the center, and kink bar on the left. Tom Pelley was the guinea. The 28-stair long set looked staggering as the first few riders choked to the stairs. More riders showed up and more steeze flew through the air.

The last of the warm up laps wrapped up and like blasts from an AK in east Compton the event exploded. The dj was spinnin, and the riders were steezin and the people were eager. Like balls from a cannon blast the homie French Canadians, Seb Toots, and Charles Reid blew themselves to some prize money with some gnarly gapping to down on the kinks. It was no question that these two deserved to be crowned stairmaster, and as the crowd headed inwards to the bars, they both received the title and a fat check to share.

The day following, the weather was still weak as. With chairs closing all up the backside, riders were left scooping lifts from sleds to get back home all warm and cuddly with some school work and hot drinks.

With the weather on the shits, the big air comp was postponed another day so a couple of us decided to head back to Jindy to prepare for the Boost Sno Sho wild card competition. And the show truely was wild!

With the world record for the world's longest rail on the line, all the competitors sucked it in as they popped the 100 meter rail, and held on to their toes for dear record breaking. Each slide brought the competitors further and the competition tighter.

The next night was the main even of Boost. WetSocks riders Jye and Charlie showed what they were made of. Congratulations to Jye for making finals alongside some major names on the international scene.

Timmys all Jacked up on Mountain Dewwww

Spare Change star Tim Laidlaw took out the Battle for Supremacy - Dew Hut Jam Saturday night at Mt.Buller.

Tim was apart of the Quiksilver team along side Nate Perry both Tim and Nate for super consistant throwing down hammers all night to only walk away with a massive $12000

Tim wasn't the only Spare Change ripper that was invited to this unique/amazing event. Jye Kearney and Tyson Pollard got amungst it.

Jye being apart of team Burton with WetSocks friend and original prankster Tom Pelley took out $3000 for best team trick. With Tom just laying about on the roof of the hut Jye thought it would be "fun" to ride up Tom's board and backflip off the apex of the hut, as Tom was stoked on how well it turned out he front flips off the roof for a lazy exit.

Although Tyson didn't walk away with a lovely looking cheque he and his partner Cohen Davies of team Rome were having an awesome time putting down some solid tricks as was everybody in the competition.

A great night for riders and spectators with everybody having nothing but good feedback from the comp I'm confident in saying it was a success.

Buller Again

Today we brought together most of the crew from around Victoria to Buller for a successful filming and Photo session thanks to the work of Mike Cooper behind the lens. We had some ideas from Rothy and me scoping around last Sunday, so this morning we got straight into it.
Started off with Tyson and Iver hitting up a sizable drop between two buildings. We got some solid shots from that, and mean while on the other side of Chamois chair Tim, Iver and Rothy where busy building rothy's epic wallride.

Then as the schedule was tight we had to move on, we got on our bike and walked to the upper reaches of Stirling Road to hit up a fun little flat bar with Shaun and Wet Sock's friend Alex "the Russian" both getting good shots.

Then it was a quick run back to Chamois to film Rothy's wall-ride that was a little to much for everyone else, but Rothy was keen as mustard and not likely to back down, it is a solid 20ft over some Air conditioning generators.

After Rothy put it down after many attempts and a Ski Patrol intervention we headed to a late lunch, after some much need grub we grabed Iver and headed up to a nice Down to flat rail in the upper village, following on from Rothy's big spot of a very legitimate wall-ride Iver wasn't shown up with what i would describe as a rail in need of some TLC but never the less Iver stepped up and put down with a solid 50-50 to Boardslide the full length of the rail.

All in all a very successful day up at Buller. Thanks to all the riders that put in the hard yards building and walking around, and a special thanks to Mike Cooper for following us around all day taking still shots. We would also like to say good luck to Wet Sock's riders Tim Laidlaw and Tyson Pollard who will be throwing down in the Dew Battle for Supremacy Saturday night.

Buller Session

Hey guys bit of a late post but better late than never. While Shaun and Iver where having a great time filming Urban magic and generally having angry old ladies kick them out, myself and Andrew "Rothy" Roth where cruising around Buller with the TSC crew for the morning.
Again the Buller weather turned it on for us but lucky enough it was all clear skies for a brief period up at the summit. We arrived to a freshly groomed and unopened jump park that did open just shortly after or arrival (great timing buller park crew). Rothy put down some solid tricks including corked BS 540's, BS 720's and boarder line Switch Underflip 720's. After that as if the gods didn't want anymore filming down the light turned instantly flat and foggy, so we spent the afternoon scoping some spots for future filming which was successful. All in all a great weekend of filming and watch early next week for photos from this coming weekends Mountain Dew Hut Jam that will include Wet Sock's riders Tim Laidlaw and Tyson Pollard good luck guys

Iver 'falls creek' Lynne

this past weekend myself and the newest 3CS team rider Iver Lynne headed to falls to hit up the village to get some solid filming done.

when we arrived it was a beautiful sunny saturday but after the first hour the clouds decided to cover us like blankets on a cold winter morning when you just don't want to get out of bed.

so we returned to the village to find the urban magic that falls creek has to offer and sure enough it was like we entered the set of a Harry Potter movie.

Great success for filming and with a new toy that is going to widen the amount of angles and camera techniques we can achieve we left with smiles on our faces.

Whilst i was at Falls filming there was another crew filming at Buller stay tuned for a post whilst i get prepared for another massive weekend of filming and general grom shennanigans.

Dragon Mystery Tour Falls Creek

Last Saturday Belmore and I travelled to Falls Creek for the Dragon event.

Battling the wind and the wild weather the event ran smoothly with Friends Tom Pelley and Alex Scott there to represent dragon it was a good day.
The features was a triple barrel down bar that was about 20 or so foot long. That was amazing fun! And a flat down box that was also real fun.

End of the day Belmore walked away with 1st and myself with 2nd.

Forum Rail jam at BAW BAW

Hey every one nick wood hear informing you guys about the Forum Baw Baw rail jam. I got to the car park reasonable early and put my gear and headed over to the forum set. when i got there i greeted the one and only Forum Rep Ralph and Shane Carter as he was sticking Forum stickers on the sick rail setup. The set up starting from right looking down at the feature there was a down box which you could get on each side which was a popular feature in the comp and then in the middle there was a round down bar which was also very popular in the comp and then on the very left there was a down flat down box. that wasn't so popular because it was a very tricky kink because the first down was really short that if you weren't on top of your game as a few people found out including my self several times. just to cap it off it was set on a man made stair set.
So the warm up was for an hour and i must say i was impressed with the tricks that where getting thrown just in warm up. first up where the gromies, they where shredding with Will aka DUBS coming in third, Jack carlin coming in second and the one and only Street fight Roth taking it out.Then the open men got under way and some really impressive trick got thrown down by the likes of Charlie and Sam from NSW, Chris deCampo, Robbie walker, The Russian, Iver Lynne, Tim Laidlaw and Mitch williams. Then the comp was under way with hammers getting thrown every where it was sick. Coming in fourth with an awesome effort was Iver, third place was deCampo, second was Mitch William, and the winner Robbie Walker. Over all the day was sick the set up was amazing, thanks once again to Forum and also Baw Baw for holding it it was truly a sick event

Great success for SpareChange crew at Cattlemans.

The saturday night just passed, Mt.Buller put on the annual Cattlemans Rail Jam. The weather definitely wasn't on the riders side but everybody threw down better than ever.
Jye Kearney and Chris DeCampo both were invited and then Iver Lynne, Tim Laidlaw and Nick Wood made it through as wildcards where only 5 out of atleast 20 were selected. 5 of the riders features in SpareChange up against the best riders in the country, they kept their cool and put down some solid tricks with Jye snatching $1500 for second place. Well done everybody.

Thredbo Freeride Series - Big Air

On Tuesday a bunch of the wetsocks crew from Mt Buller road tripped all the way upto Thredbo for the Thredbo Freeride Series Big Air event. They came up on Monday night to compete the next day then straight after presentations they headed straight back down to Mt Buller.
The open mens field was jam packed with a total of forty riders from just about everywhere. The highest placed wet socks riders where Sam Murphy and Nick Wood in eighth and ninth. They would have made it into finals for another chance to throw down but Thredbo decided to can the finals because there wasn't enough time.
And also with Billy Hayman and Jacksom Collings placing second and third in the junior category. Stoked on that one boys!

The weekend started with a bunch of Spare Change riders heading to buller after the recent snowfalls. A few of the crew had been up there mid week searching for possible filming spots so once i arrived it was game on.

After having a good couple of days at buller it was time to roadtrip across to thredbo to compete in the thredbo freeride series- Big Air.

Cattlemans Rail Jam

Hey Everyone,

Come check out some of Wet Sock's Productions riding talent this weekend the 11th of July up at Mt Buller at the Cattleman's Rail Jam, held every season for the last three years in Mt Buller village on the famous Cattleman's Staircase. Burton always do a great job of putting it on and it will be good to see the boys up there throwing down for the cash.

So the filming officially began for Spare Change on Sunday at Perisher....... :)

Charlie Steinbacher, Sam Murphy, Chris DeCampo and myself head up to a mystical mountain named Perisher where our features were ready to be slayed.

The last few days i have had lack of internet access but im back into modern society now. Sorry for the late update.

On Saturday Charlie, Sam and myself set out on a expedition battling windy and raining conditions to find some natural features that are hidden throughout Perisher. We came across a secret location that turned out to be like an adventure park for snowboarders. We had struck gold.

After Sam and myself getting creative with the surroundings, the three of us located some shovels and began the build.

The build was finished having high hopes for the next day we head home to get some beauty sleep to charge the next day.

Yesterday i flew into Canberra to commence filming of Spare Change with a few NSW shredders and help in the YES! tent at the demos in perisher.

Thanks Chewy (Quicksilver, DC, Roxy) for picking me up and hauling down to Jindy.

Charlie Steinbacher and Sam Murphy super stoked to get some filming done.

Jye Kearney and Tom Pelley filling in the nights activities with some solid SKATE battles.

Next it was time to hit the hay so we have plenty of time to scope some possible filming spots Saturday.

High hopes washed away.

Tyson, Woody and myself headed to Mt. Buller to begin the filming for Spare Change this past weekend with high hopes of getting shots.
The weather definitely wasn't on our side saturday with rain and wind coming from all directions it made it nearly impossible to film but we did manage to rough it out and slip in some love laps in-between sipping hot chocolates at Apre.

Back up to the hill Sunday with the weather looking slightly better we trek threw the bush shrubbery to our secret filming location

only to discover the rain has washed away a ton of snow leaving us empty handed.

Untill next weekend.

Apparently the snow season opened in vicco last w/e meaning that at last filming for "Spare Change" can start. The riders are ready, the cameras are ready and as of tonight the blog is ready so get excited about it!
